Robert Kennedy's A Ripple of Hope Speech (1966)
 |
Robert F. Kennedy |
This speech needs to and should be heard by every person in every nation of the world. I believe so heavily in this speech because it outlines the basis of our humanity, life, and rights as human beings. Mr. Kennedy speaks on progress, social justice, individual dignity, poverty, and much more. This speech will uplift even the most negative of views on life, country, and our fellow human beings. Most importantly this speech pulls from and puts forth the fundamental and essential meaning of hope. This will change the world in that it will speak to people and inspire them. My favorite section is when Mr. Kennedy speaks on feelings of futility and that although few of us "will have the greatness to bend history itself" each of us can change history. That "each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope... those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." This speech is truly one of the best you will ever hear.
